LULU reports Mixed result & guidance, stock down in pre-market.....

LULU reported Q3, here are the details=

Sales consensus $235.74 million, Actual $230.2 million a miss of $5.54 million

EPS estimate 25 cents, actual 27 cents a beat by 2 cents

Q4 estimate Sales $327.30 million, guidance $327 million to $332, $2.65 million higher than consensus

Q4 EPS estimate 42 cents, guidance 40 cents to 42 cents, guiding lower by 1 cent

LULU Down in pre-market $6.30.....

Conference call @ 9 AM, after listening i will make my decision
to add or sell.

    Looks like copper prices must be down as SCCO is down pre market

    Good luck with LULU--I've got ULTA after the close...

    Very reluctantly sold my AGU $70.29 and bought half SWC $10.975 (to make full) and half GNK $7.55.

    Good for you getting some GNK

    Dunno if selling your AGU was timely

    My poor POT is smacking me hard --but I am holding it for a bit more--seems AG's are ignored

    Copper was flying yesterday--take a look at my SCCO

    CLF seems to have MOJO! amazing run

    I tried to get BIDU but it moved this AM so fast it missed my buys targets

    Hey c,

    I was forced to sell something to buy the SWC/GNK and AAPL was really my only other decent option besides AGU. I chose the AGU because that kept my commodity exposure similar and transferred it to higher beta stocks.

    I'll have more options tomorrow with ability to sell certain stocks and I might be able to pick AGU back up. I still love the AG stocks...

    I tried to also get some PCLN, missed it too......

    Hey Saleem,

    I'm in a bit of a pickle here...

    I bought that 1.5 position of ULTA yesterday (initially only a regular full, but then added another half after it dipped more right away).

    It has acted horribly yesterday and today ahead of its earnings after hours. If I sell today instead of tomorrow, I lose my relaxed 3-day restrictions and would have to wait a full three days after selling to be able to rebuy in the future.

    In your estimation (and I know you don't follow this stock carefully), do you think maybe ULTA is down these days in sympathy with other retail stock post-earnings drops like TIF and LULU, or am I really in trouble?

    Hey Saleem,

    I will note that based on the last earnings call, I believed the guidance they provided was conservative and achievable, so I haven't had any worries until the bad price action.

    Is it a fakeout or a true indication?

    Just writing everything down helped me think this through. I'm going with the management I know and the story I like instead of paying attention to the traders. I'll hold through earnings and hopefully I won't lose more than 10% if things are squishy.

    Based strictly on charts...there is nothing to worry about...ULTA is sitting nicely above 50DMA & 200 DMA.....

    ULTA is going higher technically speaking $$$$$$$
