As the market powered forward, so did the portfolio, marking one of the best two-week stretches in the portfolio's history. As the Federal Reserve embarks on its easing cycle, small and growth stocks roared. The already-established portfolio positioning finally saw the huge benefits, even as some premature sells limited even further upside. The risks from here are overbought conditions and frothy sentiment or potentially a government shutdown, both just excuses to take profits. The medium term story remains robust for the markets and we likely see a melt up into year-end. I reduced my exposure significantly as I expected a "sell the news" event on a very telegraphed Fed decision, but the momentum continues nearly unabated. I look for an opportunity to re-enter.
I have my rebuy list ready, and *may* deploy some funds here, but some signs are still giving me warning flags so I remain partly cautious. The price action in bitcoin particularly is giving me pause, and some kind of fallout there could affect the broader tech/froth market.
