About market, IBD is changing their outlook tonight to "market in correction". S&P 500 is hovering around current level since May 21, 2012 & also same level on Jan 19, 2012, also same level in Feb 4, 2011. For all intense & purpose we are going nowhere fast for the last 18 months. We are stuck in a trading range as issues are not being resolved decisively only piecemeal approach. Once we deal with EU debt, then only, we are going to say goodbye to this trading range. In the meantime energy should be diverted to sticking to a game plan.....as this shall pass also. In case you are wondering, we are near bottom of this trading range.

BLOG does NOT give buy or sell.

  1. Hey Saleem,

I took another look at FIO and it appears well-positioned both as a company and a stock at these levels. I have put it into buy consideration with my others.

It should be another wide ride tomorrow...

  2. Hi Stocktrader,

FIO is @ the lower end of its trading range...target of $30.58 has lot of room to run....

Good luck with your "new & improved buy list"

  3. Hey Saleem,

Heads up for tomorrow--may affect LVS? I didn't know how widely reported this might be, so thought it was worth mentioning, although it might be completely ignored also. I know how that goes...sometimes "information" is your enemy in trading stocks:

  4. Hi Stocktrader,

Thanks for your heads up about Visa issue.

LVS is down 21 cents so far....may have to exit LVS..as it has been acting poorly along with COH.

  10. Hey Saleem,

I'm really interested in FIO here, especially with the huge short interest in the stock and it creeping higher. I'm thinking about swapping MOS for FIO. Do you think this is wise? or should I let the MOS run more?

  13. Hey Saleem,

More info on the LVS situation:

    10:45 EDT LVS, WYNN theflyonthewall.com:

Las Vegas Sands, Wynn weakness creates buying opportunity, says JPMorgan

After stocks with exposure to Macau fell following changes to Chinese visa and overseas credit card purchase rules, JPMorgan contends that the stocks' weakness creates a buying opportunity. The firm thinks that the increase in visa application time is likely to be temporary, while the card limit adjustment is not new news. JPMorgan believes that Las Vegas Sands and Wynn Resorts are attractive at current levels. :theflyonthewall.com

  15. Hey Saleem,

The way the market is reacting, I wonder if those Merkel comments set the bottom? Certainly expectations for solutions have shifted after that, setting us up for more realistic and positive surprises.

  16. Hi Stocktrader,

Merkel has been tough & believes in disciplined approach "not a quick fix".....

Her opposition to total shared debt liability is a reflection of German approach.....

Hopefully, EU can think of other ways to deal with debt....SOON...
