Worldwide retreat in indices......

Indices are under pressure worldwide, as Ben Bernanke takes the podium in Wyoming.

 Indices are down .73% to .97%

 S&P 500 low so far is 1397.01, currently @ 1400.22

 RSI 52.48

 Internals are negative by minimum 3 to 1

 Oil Down $1.17

 Gold Down $4.70

 Canadian $ Down 29 tick @ 100.76

 VIX UP 4.45% @ 17.82, not as bad as it could have been, good for bulls.

 Portfolio is EXPE,LVS,LEN,NTES,TCK

 Most stocks are down

 @ 1.59 following are green :

 P, FB,PCLN,COH,MU,SBUX,MS.....

    Hey Saleem,

    I bought some P at 12.09. I can sell this as early as tomorrow because the money is almost seasoned from the TZA sell on Tuesday, so I thought I'd take a flier with the 4.5% cash I had left and see what happens.

    Hey Saleem,

    I've bought YELP and P recently because they are brands growing in recognition and usage. The most valuable thing you can develop is a strong brand because it eventually gives you pricing power and adaptability without risking your user base.

    We'll see how these work...

    Hey Charlie,

    I actually like GRPN here. I think it is being artificially depressed due to month-end issues and seems to actually be gaining traction in the grouponing business (despite their desire to move away from that specific business model), and competitors have mostly dropped out. They have $1.80 in cash also, so you aren't paying much for the business.

    I've been thinking about it myself for about a week. I'm not sure yet what I will do.

    I just finished with the SPLK conference call. All this earnings season I've listened to amazing calls of how various leading edge technology companies are changing the way information and business is handled. It is refreshing to hear such stories amidst the sluggish backdrop of overall economic pace :).
