I won't comment too much because we are already into new trading patterns, but I think overall the trend remains higher as earnings estimates continue to work higher and capital gains are too much for mass selling this year. I think certain daily issues (like we had on Friday) create enough wall of worry to keep refreshing the market after a brief pullback. The one major concern is the amount of capital needed for the huge IPOs this summer and we'll have to see how the market digests them.
Despite copper continuing to hover near all-time highs, the stock is not working, likely a concern around costs and production levels. I raise cash for other opportunities.
I shouldn't have sold this in the first place as I think the semiconductor capital equipment is likely to see a durable cycle for multiple years and price action is not stretched.
A supplier of components to aerospace/defense systems, especially to the burgeoning drone/anti-drone space, its backlog is significantly increasing and price action is very constructive in a tougher tape.
I continue to just be nervous that some kind of big fall awaits the semiconductor industry if any hiccup in datacenter buildout is reported, either from political pressure or hyperscaler pauses (and these stocks have really been hurt recently).
NextNav price target raised to $50 from $25 at Oppenheimer Oppenheimer analyst Timothy Horan doubled the firm's price target on NextNav (NN) to $50 from $25 and keeps an Outperform rating on the shares. This is based on a new price per MHz-PoP assumption of $1.50, which implies spectrum value of about $8B. However, the price could easily push the value of its 900MHz spectrum past $2.00 per MHz-PoP if there is a bidding war, the firm adds. Pricing for recent secondary market transactions has been strong, and other sub-1GHZ spectrum has gone for very high prices. NextNav's spectrum is a larger contiguous block with nationwide coverage and unique terrestrial PNT capabilities, Oppenheimer says. The firm further adds that it could see a defensive bidding war between carriers and SpaceX (SPCX). The latter needs more spectrum for D2D and for any chance to directly enter the mobile market, and carriers may try to prevent this.
