Indices went into sell the news @ open. Since then we have retraced most of the losses.

Bought TRLA @ 43.488 based on last quarter's conference call which gives me confidence in monetization, and also the fact that taper seems to be pushed back which should improve sentiment towards housing-related stocks (as well as fundamentally increase purchases).
Bought LCC @ 20.97 based on the government reopening, lower fuel costs, and indications that the merger is more likely to be approved or at least a friendly settlement.

It is so tempting...so much so that I just bought 150 calls expiring tomorrow in my small trading account--the 21s for .12 and .13. The risk/reward seems very appealing, and could be monstrous if a deal is announced tonight or something (wishful thinking, but adds to the reward part of the equation).

The Oct 21 calls for LCC.
I was on a bit of an option streak in my short-term trading account today. I also bought 400 FCX Oct 35 calls near open for 0.03 (approximately the time I bought FCX for the retirement portfolio). I probably should have sold half at close given the move up to 0.08, but good Chinese data and more thoughts about taper delay might really give it a morning boost.
Both these options are small enough to try shooting for the moon, even though there's a high chance I'll lose on both.
Interesting you decide to shake up the whole portfolio as we hit new yearly highs today. What's the plan?
