Hey Saleem,
A nice week for the markets was also a nice one for the portfolio. It gained 2.89% versus the S&P's +1.38%.
Weekly Winners: AAL (+10.3%), SPLK (+7.5%), CSOD (+5.4% upon sale), DATA (+4.5%)
Weekly Losers: DRYS (-4.0% from purchase), SGMO (-2.1% from purchase), AXLL (-0.5%)
YTD Info:
Portfolio: +2.92%
S&P 500: +6.20%
Russell 2000: +2.13%
I sold off some software stocks early in the week as I felt they had run far enough, but ended up buying some back later. I also reduced my housing exposure buying some shipping stocks and a biotech. Here's the current makeup of the portfolio:
Top Holding (13.9%): AAL
Middle Weightings (9.6-8.4%): MSFT AXLL GM GS SPLK MS
Speculative Weightings (6.8-3.9%): YELP PANW BALT DATA DRYS SGMO
Cash: 0.1%
New Positions: PANW BALT DRYS SGMO
Closed Positions: CSOD PFPT DHI
Sell/Buyback Intraweek: AAL DATA
There's still not much different to say. The market marches on, and people still don't believe. That leads to more gains ahead.
The end of the quarter should see a market lift as we see some tape-painting. Look for the best winners to outperform.
That's about it. As July approaches, we look towards earnings season where we can get a more individualized look at companies. I hope it is good for all! :)
