Hey Saleem,

We just arrived back home after an out-of-state family gathering to celebrate a 90th birthday!

My underweight stock holdings insulated me from larger declines and the portfolio dropped 1.54% versus the S&P's -2.69%.

Current holdings: M AAL FB BWLD NXPI PFPT GTAT
Cash: 57.0%

Given the heavy short-term oversold conditions, we may see some stabilization this week. The best of breed names could see bounces.

GTAT reports for the portfolio Monday night with the conference call Tuesday morning. Sentiment around this quarter is very poor, so the chance for a bounce on bad news is good assuming the story remains intact (Apple supplier specifically).

I think the real concern of the overall markets is that the Fed is moving forward with tapering, and shifting the conversation towards rate hikes, when the economic outlook for the US and many major parts of the world is somewhat uncertain. Better economic data could alleviate these concerns, but weaker economic data could lead to profit warnings, which would precipitate another leg lower in the market. We aren't there yet, so be mindful of the price action as bounces here could be nice.

Good luck to all in navigating the treacherous waters!

Hi Stocktrader,

Beating the indices always says something about Strategy.

Good luck with GTAT.
