World markets on hold, as US North Korea ready for heart to heart....

World markets are not celebrating resumption of dialogue between US & North Korea, they are all flat lining. Oil is tumbling further and gold taking a hit also.....

All in all not a reaction we wanted to see from news of the day.

Even US markets were not sure about daily news flows, some positive and some not so positive but overall market reaction flat to positive.

Lately markets are going nowhere fast.

Here is read on RSI in indices  and sectors.

RUT         65.41

SOX         63.67

Nasdaq     62.21

S&P 500  56.15

TAN         52.60

XLE        46.25

GLD       43.00

The above is a clear cut picture of a very bifurcated market, Russell hitting new all time highs, SOX recovering big time and Nasdaq on healthy ground.

S&P 500 is weak among big 3 indices.

TAN, XLE & GLD are hitting lows.....

Message of market is very clear, stay with what is working.

Bargain hunting only hurts in a very defined market like what we have.

Small cap Chinese stocks are doing very good recovery from low low valuation.

It looks like negative news flow may be contained till summit in Singapore.

Evaluating portfolio needs to be done on an ongoing basis to position for positive earning surprises.

Good luck with your own take of market and your own comfort level.

BLOG does NOT give buy or sell.

Hi Saleem,

Last week's portfolio stats:

Performance: +2.79% (YTD: +29.65%)
Notable Winners: HUYA MU BILI COHU RCL BEAT SWKS BABA
Notable Losers: SPLK VCEL MPC TRIL

Once again, some big weekly winners (HUYA MU BILI > +10%) helped the portfolio charge forward. The market generally is strong under the surface as world economic and political winds swirl. I feel like we will probably continue to climb this "wall of worry", but still wonder when the fresh funds to propel the small caps will dry up as summer usually sees. Good picks and nimble moves should find success still.

Holdings: HUYA MU VICR BOOM GTLS HAL SPLK BEAT RCL APPN VCEL SWKS BABA EAF MPC COHU SFLY TRIL, cash 0.0%

Despite listing my holdings in size order (biggest to smallest), most positions are sitting around the same 6% (fluctuating based on price gains/losses) except for SFLY and TRIL which are 4% and 3%. I usually don't have so many stocks in the portfolio, but have found a lot of ideas to like recently.
