SRRK has potential but with uncertain timing and some risk factors still. In this case, the majority of the upside comes from takeover speculation and a secondary offering is likely without a takeover. Plus, there's always the possibility of future failed trials, and high long term rates could hurt biotech valuations generally.
CRNC has the new expanded partnership with NVDA that created the buzz late last week, and the announcements at CES show that NVDA is charging hard into the car market where the CRNC should thrive. I see more and safer upside for CRNC even if the huge run causes some profit taking near term. Today's strength in the face of broad tech weakness made me want to get in now.
Trimmed a little ZENV from the growing overweight to add small to CRNC. It's hard to sell more than 20k shares without impacting the stock so I need to try more consistently to trim.
PUMP came up on my list of smallish stocks with higher short interest sitting near 52wk highs. A look at the chart looks solid, and the industry seems to be on the upswing, so it may be worthy of a trade/investment.
For an actual very long term hold, I would probably suggest an energy company (or food or water resources). Anything technology is subject to obsolescence and/or shifts in architecture, so only the basic societal needs can truly be long term investments. Additionally, if you want something in the small/mid cap universe, there's greater chances that profitability and scale are less achievable than hoped over the long term. That all said, you may find that you monitor the investment(s) enough such that medium term investments may be more fitting to your style, especially with your attention on the markets already. In that case, looking for stock with potential catalyst in the next 6 months isn't a terrible idea.
Are you planning to do a single stock? I assume this is the case but just wanted to check :)
Hi Stocktrader, Thank you for your valuable informations. I am actually looking for a single stock for my daughter's ROTH IRA but for my trading Brokerage account. I mostly buy and sell from the stocks recommended by you and Salem since I follow you both for over 4 years already. I am truly thank you both so much and that made memoney over the years🙏
At this point, barring a different great single idea, I might just buy IWM as small caps benefit significantly from a humming economy and I think AI efficiencies will drive margin expansion in coming years. The rate fears are mostly overblown in my opinion. Either way, buying an index alleviates single-stock/concentration risk.
