What is a normal market, It IS like 8%+- gain for the year
YES some stocks will be above range which may be news driven
No more frenzied doubling by many ideas stocks, It IS all in the stocks now
SO....
IF you have a well researched, balanced portfolio you should end the year in 8% +++ range
Make sure you show " conviction & patience "
NO more " reactive switching daily "
Reduce your stress level by sticking to your ideas.....

It was a stellar week for the portfolio as news-driven and bargain-hunting buyers drove big gains for my stocks and small caps generally. The action definitely seems constructive to start off a new year, and there will likely be some new winners to compliment the old winners still going. I hope the portfolio is appropriately positioned to capitalize on both themes and I look forward to seeing how this earnings season plays out. Even though 7000 seems like a round number resistance for the S&P, it is not too overstretched yet and might have room to further run past that. For me, I'm just looking for a positive backdrop to pick stocks that I think will outperform. Earnings season for many of my story stocks is often disappointing (because there's not much to see yet), so I'll be carefully looking to maybe trim some exposure ahead of numbers.

Nice move - it's not on my rebuy list for now. The price action on positive news just isn't enough and there's big red bars on the 5-min charts every day, so I think it's going through a distribution phase. Certainly, the space is competitive and the winner may come from a bigger or newer player.
