Battle of Dow 8,000 continues.....
Dow is involved in its battle of century for 8,000....so far a close was in the cards but Monday could be another story.....too much Negativity has taken hold.....there is always something negative to harp ON......
AMZN & SPWRA could NOT give lift to their sectors in any meaningful manner????
Financials are called into question on a daily basis...so it was nice to see conviction buy on MA by GS....which also benefits V.....
GOLD is GOLD again with its highest close in 6 months.......
By 10 AM Saturday..I will list technically weak/strong/buy rated stocks.

Market reacting to GDP number???
All indices are in RED...thanks to better than expected GDP number...3.8% drop vs expected 5.4%.....this should have triggered a HUGE rally...BUT........
There is too much pessimism to CHEER any better news.......
1.5% area is the loss in all indices.....
GOLD UP $15+++
Crude UP 60 cents

GERN Down 9 cents...GERN went to $8.50 new 52 week HIGH ..before pulling back with market....

WEAK close in all indices???
Markets were taken back by many things including details of stimulus package...
Instead of rally we got clobbered in most sectors......
Washington is still busy with porks than substance....
So we stay rangebound near LOWS????
In my portfolio:
Sold HGU.....
Bought IMG.TO which also trades in Amex as IAG...my cost in Toronto $8.38..it is a profitable Gold producer of almost million oz...trades actively 2 million average....

AMZN had a beat & guide Higher UP $6+++
JNPR & BRCM were greeted with more selling AH.....on Sales miss & guiding lower....
SPWRA beats by 11 cents.....beats on Revenue & guiding in line for 09.....giving boost to solar stocks AH....

Horrendous jobless claims but NO panic selling !!!
Today's jobless claims shot UP to 4.78 million....
New homes Sales plunged to record low ever for Dec..down 14.7%....
So..all this record economic slump is causing indices to slump less than 2% so far???
Worse the economic news..the closer we are to recovery..IS the LOGIC...plus President Obama has warned many times that news will get worse before it gets better.....
S&P,Nasdaq closed above 50 DMA yesterday while Dow did not.....
Today Nasdaq is still ABOVE 50 DMA...while S&P gave the crown ..so far....

Remember Jimmy the Cramer call that Gold chart is LYING & sell,sell,sell AEM & buy below $40....well GOLD is UP $11 @ $900 & all gold stocks are UP..AEM last trade $53.97 UP $1.93..so Jimmy the Cramer gang is losing money on AEM short...maybe his team of losers will learn that TAPE never LIES & NEVER fight the TAPE......Gold has been the strongest sector since November 2008...get use to it !!!!
