Hey Saleem,
I am tempted to sell Z ahead of the earnings given the additional run today. The valuation is just getting so stretched, I'm not sure how they can live up to those expectations, especially with the bounce from TRLA's earnings already?

Hey Saleem,
As for FCX and the merger plans, it seems to me the outcomes are good/good/neutral:
Option #1 (good): Merger voted down by target, FCX walks away, FCX regains pre-merger valuation due to pure play status again
Option #2 (good): Merger goes through but FCX wins due to value of acquired assets increasing since merger announcement
Option #3 (neutral): New merger terms agreed to at a higher price, FCX pays fair value due to appreciation of assets since the original merger announcement
I realize I'm looking at this simplistically, but I think it supports my idea that there's limited downside here. I'll also note that copper is holding steady today despite some/major losses in a lot of other metals.

Hey Saleem,
I did end up selling Z @ 62.52. Surely even on a big beat it will fall back to test support after such a run and high expectations.
I'm getting a feeling like we might be ready for a market rest here anyways...

Hi Stocktrader,
Taking profit never hurts...you can always get back in IF your analysis post earnings warrants it.
A sweetened offer is a more likely scenario for FCX takeover...which may not be so bad.

Hey Saleem,
I listened to the MODN conference call this evening. It strikes me how early in the growth phase this company still is. The area of revenue model management is still very new as companies have mostly focused on other areas like cost, human resources, or salesforce management.
Given this, MODN is not really at that inflection point yet where companies are scrambling to get signed up with any provider (of which they aren't many/any) like we see in some of my other companies like CSOD. MODN's growth rate right now is a steady 20% and they seem to be doing the right things to position the company for the future.
They have quite a few large key companies that are helping to set a precedent for the industries in which they reside (life sciences and technology). I think it's only a matter of time before MODN hits their full stride. Until then, I'm not sure what the stock will do, but being involved now is a good thing while the real world and market catches up with these guys.

Hey Saleem,
AXLL just reported a dismal quarter late in after hours. There's really not much good in any of their segments, but possibly some one-time problems. Listening to the conference call will be key tomorrow morning. At least they will benefit greatly from the tailwind of low natural gas prices and a homebuilding recovery, but preliminarily it doesn't look good.

Hi Stocktrader,
Thanks for your review of earning report from MODN & AXLL.....
It will be interesting to see how their TAPE reacts.
