Are you in "right sectors" ????

Ben Bernanke gave an "honest & credible take on economy ,markets,$ & stimulus package"

But it is NOT good enough for "big players"........

I say ....Too bad.....

Honesty & credibility must rule to take US away from "instant FIX syndrome"

Same "instant FIX got US in this MESS in the first place"

So....How do you COUNTER the agenda of GS of the world.........

By....... buying the right stocks with CONFIDENCE & CONVICTION......

Strangely enough...very good stocks have been on FIRE sale...& nobody wants them.....actually retails are running away from them......thanks to barrage of short term strategy propagated by CNBC & TECHNICIANS.......

Investments is NEVER done with DOTS & LINES.......

Fundamental Analysis is the KEY even for trading purposes.........

I have proven by my style of investing and trading ...that you MUST know what you are buying & trading......

I have shown CONVICTION with many stocks ..when the "so called MB experts were laughing @ my strategy...I laughed all the way to the bank...I do NOT know how my CRITICS ended the year......as they are extremely "secretive of their 2007 results????"

In my portfolio :

AGU down $6.08...with the Ag sector..trading in support range.....

MA is UP $2.06.......

CSIQ UP 91 cents.....most undervalued based on PE...check it out...also Seeking Alpha has a nice commentary today...worth a read $$$...

LDK UP $2.04...it will be the "mother of all solar stock in 2009"

AKNS UP 12 cents.....Andalay is their high efficiency Solar panel...easy to install also...looks pretty on the roof.....check their video on website.

Do you see...how my OVERWEIGHT solar stocks are helping my portfolio....$$$$

@ 12.42 PM the following are green :

AAPL(looking very strong),SOHU,SOLF,AMZN,DRYS,NCTY,GRMN,AKAM,JASO.

Please look @ green stocks today and do your OWN due diligence......

Buying 5 good quality stocks in good sectors never HURTS for year end performance.

BLOG does NOT give buy or sell.

Saleem,
Just a quick note on a couple of moves that I have made. I sold ESLR on downgrade and may trade it in these ranges as Im pretty familiar with it. I did get out at just over $13 so Im ok with it. I bought MLNM @ $16.36. I read the Schaeffer blog on it this morning, so I will be watching it closely. I also bought AGP @ $40.30. So I am now in LDK, AGP and MLNM with 20% cash. Best wishes today. If you have any comments regarding my portfolio, I'd love to hear them. Doug...

Hi Doug,

Excellent moves..as you did FA on your purchase.

It is always a good idea to buy with conviction on DOWN days...

We make money with stocks NOT with markets...

OE is also playing a MAJOR role today ???

One more admission, I added a little to LDK on news. I brought down my cost basis to $45.60. I am longggggggg now. So I am prepared with much conviction to hold for longer term NICE profit. I rationalized that by selling ESLR, I lowered my overall exposure and could afford to get a little more of a winner in the solar complex. Thanks for the feedback Saleem.

Hi Doug,

Adding LDK is the-most impressive move you have made in 2008....

Conviction is like religion....either you believe in IT or NOT.....

Not in a buying mood today. Way to volatile. However, I may be buying more AAPL soon, as it's really been holding its own during the last couple of day of tumult! and if AAPL can't make....were in deep doo doo!

Hi Saleem,

Nice to have LDK showing strength in such a pathetic market environment. I'm starting to believe.

Hi Bruce,

AAPL is showing strength...that is why I am highlighting.

OE is playing a role today.....

Friday should be anti-climax OE wise.

Not much you can say except %$(&^%!!

Two green (AAPL, LDK) and two red stocks (AKNS, SEED) today. Ended down <2.05%>. I'd really like to say the words, "I'm up X%, today"

Portfolio:
AAPL - 7.03%, may buy more tommorrow.
AKNS - 17.51%
LDK - 20.00%
SEED - 13.91%
Cash - 41.55%

Decrease on stock values as a % of portfolio is NOT the way I wanted to raise Cash!!!

Hasta Manana!

Hi Saleem. I bought LDK today. My first purchase the past few weeks. Still mostly in cash, but could not pass on LDK when it touched 35. I couldn't believe it hit 35, took a few minutes to pull the trigger, but bought a truckload at 35.45. On my watch list of over 35 stocks, only LDK, AAPL and BABY were up today. Peace.

Hi All,
On my screen of 20 stocks to watch only 6 green.
LDK
AAPL
PDX
GENZ
IVGN
FDP
Crazy times we live in... I do think that MO and CHTT are at tempting prices for a recession play. Both did a little testing today, so probably good entry points. Just some thoughts.

Hi all,

Near total capitulation. Vix way up. BB has lost his mind to let things get this bad in financials markets.
Lost all of last years gains in less than three months. Buy only best of breed, overseas where economies are booming. Just my two cents.

Hi all,

Just looked at DRYS chart for the last 52 weeks. Its back at Aug 07 prices before the big run up. 60% loss from peak. Bottom or not?

Hi Standard,
With all the news about dry bulk shipping rates going down, even with the 60% decline, I would be scared because the Bears have got some news to run with, you know what I mean? If a stock is taken down mercilessly but on no real news, that to me, wouldn't be as scary. That is probably the general feeling, so you may be onto something of a contrary play. "They" do say buy when its the scariest! Just some thoughts off the top of my head. I couldn't buy it yet myself.

Saleem and other members here:

It would really add weight to what you guys are calling here when you add more credibility by seeing real performance and not just posting ups and downs each day. I suggest Covestors.com for tracking.

You can how others place their trades and why and see their portfolio performance daily. Saleem, it would add "CONVICTION" to your words.

Hi Minaccess,

Congratulations on a great buy on LDK......

LDK showed green.....when most solar were "deep RED".....

Hi Standards,

DRYS...maybe 60% below peak..but is the "prospect as bright as before".....

I think NOT because of plunge in rates......

Hi Saleem. It may seem crazy to buy in such a poor down market. Time will tell. But solars were strong most of the day, even though LDK was the only winner at the end of the session. When we do start to go up, solars will lead. I do think we go down farther, at least 300 more on the dow. I just simply believe solars had their worst down days already. I have more powder dry for LDK if it nears 30 again. You just never know in this crazy market.

Patrick,
I don't think that tracking each persons performance in the market is the purpose for this blog. I am down right now for the year 11% but that doesn't change the fact that I intend to keep learning and end the year up. Does it take away from my questions or comments that I am not in the green right now? I know that Saleem and others here are always ready to divulge buy points, sell points, % gained or lost... I subscribe to a service that has a huge winning track record. Most of the folks here subscribe to some sort of professional service. This blog isn't a paid service where performance has to be proven. This is a group of investors that share ideas and struggles/success with one another, led by Saleem, who has 40 years of experience in the market. He organized and posts, with no other intention than to share his opinions and assist those who ask him. If you want conviction, then you will have to find it in yourself or pay for it.
