Hey Saleem,

Sold RDN @ 13.19. The chart looks toppy and may have to digest the large gains this year along with the stock growing into the valuation some. This is a way for me to reduce exposure to the overall market.

SPLK and PANW both report after the bell. Too bad I don't have two sets of ears to listen to the two conference calls at once!

Hi Stocktrader,

I am expecting good result from SPLK....PANW has been beat by 1 cent & guide in line.

Good luck with both.

Hey Saleem,

As you know I sold PANW a while ago sticking only with PFPT as my security play. PANW just never regained traction after the post-earnings selloff last quarter. Competition in the space is difficult to gauge and service provider spending has been squishy. Sentiment is certainly low enough that maybe even a mediocre quarter will inspire some buyers, but I'm definitely on the sidelines for now.

As for SPLK, I'm definitely expecting good things. Even a small beat-and-raise in a subscription model increases the value of the company a lot since it filters through to every single quarter subsequent versus a product-centric company where one good quarter doesn't necessarily precipitate another one.

Hey Saleem,

Just finished with the SPLK call. No changes to my positive outlook except they are gaining even more traction in security solutions (as companies see current solutions as inadequate and need the real-time monitoring of massive data feeds) and are seeing more discussions with higher level executives at companies (eventually leading to larger $ deployments).

I think the low volume after hours selloff may not be indicative of tomorrow's action.

Hi Stocktrader,

Thanks for your cc take on SPLK.

Your interpretation of their business model is a good indicator of their future stock price.
