Market are going through a grinding bottoming process...thanks to all talk NO action by White House,Treasury & Fed YET !!!
Treasury & Fed has lot of means to force a bottom in markets ?????
All treasury has to do is buy mini S & P worth a million $...& it will start a stampede to cover by shorts.......
They should do this 5 days in a row......then you watch where this market GO $$$$
$5 million worth of investment to bolster CONFIDENCE of markets & economy
How TOUGH is that to do this....... NEAR closing time........every day for 5 days !!!!
But Treasury, Feds & White house are becoming a party to this "freefall in markets"...
I have never witnessed a "CRIPPLED adminstration"when it comes to saving economy ????compared to HOW FAST they moved with all LOGISTICS 7000 miles away to invade IRAQ.......with TRILLIONS of secret funding by democrats & republicans...... all signed off in a hurry ????
Sometimes I wonder what Paulson role IS in this freefall......being an ex BOSS of Goldman Sachs............I will leave @ that......
My portfolio was flat today..thanks to AGU & CSIQ......
Portfolio is :
AGU,AKNS,CSIQ,LDK & MA......
By 10 AM saturday ..I will post list of technically WEAK/STRONG & MOMENTUM stocks.
BLOG does NOT give buy or sell.
Please try to recover from this freefall markets.....

Yep, I am trying to figure out which sector will less suffer from this downtrend or even profit from it. I was wondering if online brokers would benifit from that volatile market. Researching that aspect. I am looking at Interactive Brokers Group, Inc. (IBKR)
I am also looking at ORBITAL SCIENCES CP (ORB)... It manufatures small rockets and space systems for the private sector and the military. Seems to be a sector usually less affected by this kind of market.
We need fresh ideas. Peter Lynch is quite inspiring on that matter... but it's more easily said than done :-)
Hi Frogvest,
Peter Lynch used all his time to understan the fundamentals of all the company he owned and believed in their business model......
Currently many sectors are on fire sale.....
Depending on your time horizon & feel for that sector.....taking a position will be very profitable.

Saleem and all bloggers:
You need to take 13 or so minutes to watch and listen to Jim Cramer video "Mad Money Game Plan" on CNBC.com. tonight
The video deals with the ineffectiveness of the proposed "stimulus" plan and Fed interest rate cuts inconjuction with what he sees as the only way to get out of this "subprime mess."
Unfortunately, I think he is right on in his analysis. The only problem is I don't think the power brokers running this Country have the cohones to do what he believes needs to be done and that CONCERNS me GREATLY $$$$$$.
I know people like to disregard Cramer, as he is a lot of show business, but his analysis in this video makes 110% sense to me.
Let me know your thoughts after you watch it.
amen, this admins proiorities are bass-ackward
Friends, we might be in big trouble then we think are in because of this subprime mess, we could easily see a 2000 point drop in a day if the bond insurers defaults...word of caution... hope it does not happen.
this is a great article, must read:

Patience is a virtue!
These are tough times and if you are not out of the market now you are probably long or just hoping and praying that the market will come back so that you can get out and break even.
Yes, the economy appears to be slowing in the US and in Europe and yes, the market is in a downward spiral. But if you're holding stocks with strong fundamentals and you have time on your side, relax! Now if you buy and sell purely on technicals, then you might have missed the boat depending on the stock that you're holding (if it has weak fundamentals).
However, if you're reading this blog, hopefully you've seen enough to help you understand that a combination of TA and FA is necessary to be really successful as an investor (long term). So, regardless of where you are right now (up/down/even), learn from everything that is happening because history does repeat itself. Imagine the people that took the time to learn from their mistakes in 2000/01. Many of them are probably sitting on a hoard of cash right now, just waiting to identify the next round of leaders :-) The market will come back, give it time.
My homework tells me that Q3 and Q4 of '08 will be kind to those of us that were patient in Q1 and Q2 of '08.
Patience is a virtue!
Hi Bruce,
Yes I have watched Cramer and heard his thesis.
Paulson who ran GS...should have known this all along ???
I will go even further...Paulson knew everything which is going ON and he has decided NOT to deal with it????
Saleem
Hi Troy,
I think all the issues are known to the markets & this administration is helping those who are short this market.
GS alway's has the inside scoop on the UNWILLINGNESS of white house to deal with any issue.

Hi J Schmoe,
Yes...that is the way it seems.

Hi Ibd Long,
