Dow closed @ 11807.43 after dipping to 11725.52 !!

Dow made an honourable close today after dipping to 11725.52.....

Lot of negative news were in play today so the close was half decent....

Internals were very weak over 2 to 1 on the downside....

In my portfolio :

MRVL rating 10/30 rated for a "breakout" @ $17.68 for a target of $19.05

RIMM rating 15/70 target $157.44....reports AH wed expecting a BEAT & guide UP...

SOL No TA.....completed secondary...sold off with most solar.....typical tape after completion of secondary...when retail start second guessing about who is shorting among buyer of secondary...went as low as $18.83 on panic retail selling..closed @ $19.65 below 50 DMA of $20.50....I do expect a strong rebound shortly !!!!

Strong sectors were Retailers, financials,Builders,Refiners & selected Technology.....

BLOG does NOT give buy or sell.

Nice finish to a troubled day. Hey I noticed the Semiconductors Index was making a positive move today. Everything else negative. Why the semi's? I have picked up from various sources that the 3rd & 4th quarter are the best for them. And they are looking for a strong ending. Could this be the next group to move? Are Ag and commodities peaking?? Oh! Thanks for the great analysis of activities of the day.

Hi Standards,

Yes...Techs are very strong for Q3 & Q4.....

RIMM MAY kickstart the malaise in techs with a BEAT & guide UP...

Yes...I do think that Techs will take the centre stage till Q4 ER.

Add to the tech play is AAPL

Note that most tech do real well in hte 3 and 4 qtr--AAPL has lots of toys people want and think that they need. Look out AAPL will fly up!
Visa made a good recovery and I hope ready for a giddy up
Cheers

Unlike industries such as technology, where competitors are constantly striving to come up with hot new products to knock off the competition, dry-bulk shippers are a more convivial bunch. All offer similar services at similar rates. All will prosper when day rates rise, and they'll suffer when they fall.
I say buy some I got DSX the Best of Breed.

Hi Madmax,

What do you think of DRYS as compared to DSX?
